Officially opening an Etsy Store

So for the past two years in my spare time between working full time and revamping our house with lots of DIY projects, I have also been creating hair accessories as gifts for friends. What started out as something I wanted to make since I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted in stores, has now turned into a small side business for me. Originally I would give a necklace or a headband to a friend as a birthday or Christmas present. But I’ve had so many compliments on them and so much support and encouragement to open an online etsy store.

So *GULP* heres goes nothing! Tonight I offially did it.. I opened an online store. (It sounds so weird saying it outloud.. well typing it .. you know what I mean) I’ve spent the past couple weekends crafting away and spend my Sunday today designing the “look” of the store, packaging, and researching shipping methods. Okay first of all it took WAY longer than I thought it would, and it was a little more overwhelming than I thought, HOWEVER I can now breath a sigh of relief. “It’s a start..” I keep telling myself. I’m not sure how long it will take my site to get loyal customers, or even what I’m getting myself into, But I know I have been thinking about this for too long to not do it.

So as of now.. there’s just a couple headbands listed on the site. As time allows I want to add printable baby announcements, birthday invitations, celebration banners and lots more!! But hold on.. it’s going to take some time (I mean I could not sleep and stay up to the wee hours of the morning designing for my store.. but alas I don’t do well without sleep or coffee for that matter) So for now I will spend my time away from my graphic design full time job and utilize my nights and weekends to work on my etsy store.
